Disney's Boardwalk Inn - A Rad Traveler Review
Everyone is always looking for the best location for a Walt Disney World trip - well, look no further than The Boardwalk Inn. This destination promises a memorable stay filled with joy, convenience, luxury and tons of fun. Join us in exploring this gem of Disney World and discover why it shines as the premier option for an exceptional retreat.
Location, Location, Location!
Nestled along the picturesque shores of Crescent Lake, Disney's Boardwalk Inn offers the perfect blend of convenience and charm. Located just a stone's throw away from Epcot and a short boat ride from Hollywood Studios, this prime location immerses you in the heart of the Disney magic. With easy access to the parks and other attractions, you'll find yourself at the center of all the action without sacrificing tranquility.
To dive into the details, getting to Epcot was ridiculously easy and so convenient. The total time it took for us to walk out of our door to the entrance at Epcot was 8 minutes. It is extremely easy and scenic as you're walking along the water the entire time. This made our Epcot day(s) so nice. It also is extremely nice doing park hopper or going to dinner in Epcot.
To get to Hollywood studios, it was just a short (12 minutes) boat ride. Bonus is that you don't have to stand on the dock the entire time while waiting. The turf lawn is right next to the dock so kids can play until the boat pulls up.
Getting to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs of course are bus rides. Great thing is that from the lobby to the bus stop is a 1 minute walk, and then since The Boardwalk Inn is basically in the middle of the entire park, all bus rides were relatively easy.
The Boardwalk's Got Whimsy!
Step into a world where old-world charm meets Disney whimsy at the BoardWalk Inn. The classic seaside boardwalk theme is woven seamlessly into the elegant décor, creating a unique atmosphere that's both nostalgic and enchanting. From the elaborate lobby to the cozy rooms, every detail is thoughtfully designed to transport you to a bygone era filled with magic and excitement.
The entirety of The Boardwalk Inn felt luxurious while at the same time being laid back and fun. The kids loved the older themed décor but true to Disney standards, it all blended perfectly.
Food and Drink
Prepare for options when it comes to drinking and eating! Just in walking distance the options are a plenty. One of our favorite things to do while there is in the afternoon before dinner, getting a cocktail at the Belle Vue Lounge while the kids played on the lawn. There is a balcony off the lounge overlooking the lawn to sit and enjoy your drink, or walk downstairs to be closer to the kids. Either way, it was delightful and something we did every evening.
There are delicious places to eat within 3 minutes of your room at The Boardwalk Inn. Trattoria Al Forno is a very popular Italian restaurant. Flying Fish is also one that is delicious and fun. Go simple and grab a slice of pizza from the Pizza Window while the kids play and then walk next door to Boardwalk Ice Cream for some dessert.
You can also walk over to Epcot for the evening. Pick up that park hopper option, hit a ride or two and do dinner around the world. It's super enjoyable to finish the day at Epcot with dinner and then the fireworks display. Pro tip - watch the fireworks between France and the UK - you have a great view and then it's an easy exit out of the park and back to The Boardwalk.
Recreation for Everyone
While the excitement of the parks beckons, don't forget to take some time to unwind and recharge at the resort. The Boardwalk Inn offers a variety of amenities for guests of all ages, including relaxing pools, fitness facilities, and even a charming carnival-themed pool area for the little ones. The pool is perfect for kids who love space and has a really fun slide for them to take. There is a bar at the pool as well to order quality food and drinks while poolside.
The Boardwalk Inn also offers the turf lawn that is a constant spot for kids to be kids. We didn't realize how much this helped, whether it was playtime before dinner, before going to the park or while we had a drink. It was so nice to have! One bonus thing is each night, The Boardwalk has an inflatable projector screen and plays a Disney movie.
The Boardwalk itself also offers plenty to do. They have carnival style games all along the boardwalk, funnel cake and margarita stands, and lots of ducks to feed! There are also single and tandem bikes for rent to take a nice stroll around the Boardwalk and over to neighboring resorts.
Soak Up That Disney Magic!
Disney's Boardwalk Inn is not just a hotel—it's an experience like no other. With its prime location, enchanting atmosphere, and endless entertainment options, it's the perfect destination for anyone looking to make their Disney World getaway truly unforgettable.
It is our new favorite spot and we're already looking for another time to come back. The convenience and luxury paired with all the options for kids makes it a truly fantastic stay and we cannot wait for our next time back!
